5K/10K/25K Teams

Priority HealthPaneraThe Fifth Third River Bank Run invites you to participate in the Team Competition on May 10, 2014 in downtown Grand Rapids. Team competition is available for the 25K, 10K and 5K Run with six types of teams: Corporate, Speed, Military, Public Safety, College/University, and USATF (please see below).

Valid team entries consist of a completed online TEAM REGISTRATION (including the team fee if applicable) and must be submitted by April 25, plus all team members must be individually registered (including payment of the individual entry fee, if applicable) for the race by April 25.

If you are eligible for a team entry fee to be waived, or if you have any questions, please e-mail the Team Coordinator before you complete the team registration.

Scoring
All Fifth Third River Bank Run participants will wear the Chronotrack B-Tag for scoring purposes on event day, May 10. The B-Tag will be attached to your participant bib which you will receive at Late Registration/Packet Pick-up at DeVos Place on Friday, May 9 or Saturday, May 10. Please attach your participant bib (with B-Tag attached) to the front of your shirt for best results. Your participant bib/B-Tag will not need to be returned following your event.

Team Competition Entry Fees and Deadline (click here for fee schedule)

  • Individuals may compete on only one team.
  • Team registration must be completed online with all team members registered by April 25.
  • USATF and Public Safety (Police, Fire, etc.) team fees only are waived; individual fees required.
  • Military team and participant fees are waived. Military participants must be on a team to have the participant fee waived.
  • CORPORATE TEAM runners will not be able to participate in the individual Clydesdale category. Runners on all other teams will be able to participate in the individual 25K and 10K Clydesdale categories.
  • Late registration for teams will NOT be available on Friday, May 9, 2014 or Saturday May 10, 2014 (RACE DAY). Individuals may late register on Friday, May 9, however, they cannot be attached to a team at that point in time. They must be registered on the team by April 25 to be included in the team competition. No Team Roster changes will be accepted after April 25.
  • Race Day Team Photos will be taken at the Team Hospitality area in DeVos Place.
  • Gear Check will be available at the Team Hospitality Area in DeVos Place. Please be advised that only Team members are allowed in the Team Hospitality area due to space constraints. Please arrange a separate location to meet with family and friends prior to and after the race.
  • Registered runners will receive a t-shirt, finisher gift, post event refreshments and a free beverage ticket for the Michelob Ultra Finish Fest on Calder Plaza.
Choose the Cotton or Technical Shirt (men's and women's sizes available; technical shirts are high vis orange)!
If you already have too many cotton t-shirts in your dresser drawers, this offer is for you! Select the Technical Shirt option ($16.50 upgrade) at time of entry. At Late Registration/Packet Pick-up at DeVos Place, you'll receive a short sleeve, event-specific Technical Shirt instead of the white, 100% cotton Fifth Third River Bank Run t-shirt. The Technical Shirt will sport the same design as the race day shirt (but unlike the cotton shirt, also contain your event distance) but with a wicking fabric to pull moisture away from your skin while you run!

CORPORATE:

Division One: Fewer than 1,000 employees
Division Two: Between 1,000 and 2,500 employees
Division Three: More than 2,500 employees

  • Employees with a minimum of 20 hours (excluding consultants), retirees, or spouses.
  • Minimum of five and no more than 10 runners per team.
  • Sponsor may enter as many teams as desired.
  • Must register as 25K, 10K or 5K runner (No clydesdales).
  • The top five finishers will count toward the team's score. If the team does not have five finishers, it will be disqualified.
  • Scoring is based on each runner within his/her age group on each team. The object is to have the lowest score.
  • Trophies are given to the top three teams in each division in all 3 races. In addition, medals will be awarded to all team members.
  • All team members must compete in the same distance event.
  • Individuals cannot be registered in the Clydesdale division.

SPEED:

  • Minimum of five and no more than 10 runners per team.
  • Team members do not have to be employees of one company.
  • The top five finishers will count toward the team's score. If the team does not have five finishers, it will be disqualified.
  • Scoring is based on the combined times of the top five finishers on each team.
  • Trophies are given to the top three teams and the individual members will receive medals.
  • All team members must compete in the same distance event.

MILITARY: (All Fees Waived)

  • All members must be active or reserve in the United States Military.
  • Minimum of five and no more than 10 runners per team.
  • The top five finishers count toward the team's score. If the team does not have five finishers, it will be disqualified.
  • Scoring is based on the combined times of the top five finishers on each team.
  • Trophies are given to the top three teams and the individual members will receive medals.
  • All team members must compete in the same distance event.

PUBLIC SAFETY: (Team Fee Only Waived/Individual Fees Required)

  • Minimum of five and no more than 10 runners per team.
  • Team members do not have to be employees of one company.  However, you must be employed by a public safety organization (i.e. police department, fire department, etc.)
  • The top five finishers will count toward the team's score. If the team does not have five finishers, it will be disqualified.
  • Scoring is based on the combined times of the top five finishers on each team.
  • Trophies are given to the top three teams and the individual members will receive medals.
  • All team members must compete in the same distance event.

COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY:

  • Must be an employee, retiree, current student, or alumnus of a specific college or university.
  • All team members must be associated with the same college or university.
  • Minimum of five and no more than 10 runners per team.
  • The top five finishers will count toward the team's score. If the team does not have five finishers, it will be disqualified.
  • Scoring is based on the combined times of the top five finishers on each team.
  • Trophies are given to the top three teams and the individual members will receive medals.
  • All team members must compete in the same distance event.

USATF:

  • The USA Team Championship title will be awarded to the first place national club team and association club team.
  • The maximum number of team members is unlimited.
  • Male teams must have a minimum of five runners who will be scored on aggregate time.
  • Female teams must have a minimum of three runners who will be scored on aggregate time.
  • No team registration fee for USATF teams is required.
  • All members must be individually registered to run with a 2014 USATF membership number.
  • Only available for the 25K distance event.
