25K RELAY

25K RELAY COMPETITION

Participate in the Fifth Third River Bank Run 25K without running the entire 15.5 miles. Grab a couple of friends or family members and participate as a 25K Relay group on Saturday, May 10!

A 25K Relay group consists of two to three participants who will cover the entire 25K (15.5 miles) distance. Each participant will run one leg that ranges from 3 to 7 miles. Your Relay group can have as few as two members competing. However, this will require that one member must run two consecutive legs. For example, if a group has only two members, the first runner must run the first two legs of the Relay and the second runner would run the third leg.

25K Relay Exchange Zones
  • There will be a single staging area at each Relay Exchange Zone.
  • Volunteers will be on-site to direct Relay participants to the Exchange Zone.
  • It is the responsibility of Relay members to know when their team member will be arriving at each Exchange Zone. This can be approximated by knowing each member's running pace (how fast they run). This will help in estimating when they will be arriving at each Exchange Zone.
  • Water, portable restrooms and medical support will be available at Exchange Zones.
  • As Leg #3 participants leave the exchange zone, please be conscious of the 25K participants as they have been running 12 miles at this point and have 3.5 miles to go. The 25K Aid Station #8 is located just past the Exchange Zone and 25K participants will be getting refreshments from both sides of the road.

Returning Relay Members and Post-Race Refreshments

  • The Exchange Zone busses will return to the Michigan St. loading zone to drop-off Relay members.
  • Relay members running the #1 and #2 legs, can take advantage of post-race refreshments on their bus which will return them to the downtown area.
  • Relay members running the #3 leg can access the Post Race Refreshments area through the north gate off Michigan Street onto Ottawa Avenue. Participants must be wearing their bib to access Post Race Refreshments.
  • Relay members should arrange for a meeting place as there is no Relay group run-in across the finish line.
  • Relay members should pick up their 25K Relay finisher medals at the Awards Tent in the Michelob Ultra Finish Fest on Calder Plaza..
